Guided by Love: A Caregiver’s Story

HomeInterviewsGuided by Love: A Caregiver’s Story

After decades in the corporate banking world, Wade Alliance never imagined his next chapter would involve founding a home care company. He made a life-changing pivot, one rooted in personal experience, loss, and love. He went from financial executive to founder of a premium home care company, which began not in an office, but at home, during one of the most difficult chapters of his life.

His wife, Elaine, was diagnosed with cancer during her pregnancy with their youngest child. Over the next fifteen years, he became not only a devoted husband and father but a caregiver, navigating a landscape of hospital visits, post-operative care, and the unpredictable rhythms of chronic illness. Despite having a strong family network, there were moments when professional in-home care was essential, and those moments were often marked by disappointment.

“When my wife became ill, that moment changed everything, Alliance recalls. “Inconsistent caregivers, minimal training, and a lack of empathy,” he says. “Too often, it felt like we were just a name on a schedule. Elaine deserved better. All families do.”

When Elaine passed away in 2017, his caregiving role continued as he helped his father through the progression of Parkinsons Disease. Once again, he encountered the same challenges.

I saw the system failing families again and AGAIN. That’s when I knew something had to change.

Alliance decided to take action. He left the financial world behind and launched Castle HomeHealth, a Northeast Florida-based home care agency focused on integrity, compassion and excellence.

“I started Castle to offer what I wish we had for my family. I wanted exceptional, compassionate care that supports the whole family, not just the client,” Alliance says. “This isn’t about checklists or clocking hours. It’s about connection and quality.”

“Families need peace of mind and that starts with people you can trust walking through your door,” Alliance adds. “At Castle, that’s non-negotiable.”

What began as a personal mission has grown into a movement for better care in the home. Castle is a promise, built on experience, empathy, and the enduring legacy of those he loved most.
