Marsha Hatcher is a celebrated Jacksonville, Florida–based visual artist whose career spans over three decades, making her one of the city’s most influential creative voices. Born in South Georgia, Hatcher earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Albany State University and settled in Jacksonville, where she has lived and created art for the past thirty-five years.

Hatcher’s work is deeply rooted in storytelling, exploring identity, cultural history through painting, mixed media, photography, and sculpture. Her subjects often include people of color, cultural narratives, and scenes drawn from her global travels, which inform her rich, artistic perspectives.

Her artwork has been exhibited widely in Northeast Florida, including at Yellow House, the Ritz Theatre & LaVilla Museum, the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and the Beaches Museum & History Park. In 2025, she was awarded the prestigious Ann McDonald Baker Art Ventures Award, one of the region’s highest honors for artists, recognizing her lifetime contributions to the arts community.
