The Chris Thomas Project has quickly become one of the most exciting and versatile musical acts in the Southeastern United States, blending classic entertainment with modern energy.
Thomas first gained regional recognition by building The Chris Thomas Band from a complete unknown into one of the area’s most sought after live acts. Thomas began his career in entertainment by teaching people how to dance.
“In 2008 I had four dance studios and people were struggling economically. Due to fewer dance lessons and I had to shift my business model while trying to keep the studios open, Thomas said.
“I always thought I could sing a little, so we started off as a duo now seventeen years later here we are entertaining people all across the world.
The group is known for its versatility, with performances ranging from an intimate acoustic duo to a full eighteen-piece big band.
Musically, the project spans swing and jazz standards, Rat Pack classics, Motown favorites, and contemporary pop hits.
“A lot of the music that I do locally is party style like R&B, funk, that kind of music. It just depends on what the audience wants.”
Thomas’ commanding vocals and electric stage presence have earned him resident performer status with Virgin Voyages Cruise Lines. In 2026, he is contracted for five tours so far. “If people leave smiling, tapping their feet, and feeling something that’s success to me.
