Janice Ancrum is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA).

A native of Fernandina Beach, Ancrum’s commitment to public service began at sixteen when she volunteered for the Nassau Council on Aging. Graduating from the University ofFlorida, she pursued a career spanning government and nonprofit sectors, advocating for causes from homelessness to senior care.

Throughout her career, Ancrum has impacted individuals of all ages, from children to centenarians. Her leadership roles include positions on prestigious boards such as Baptist Hospital-Nassau and the Florida Council on Aging, where she currently serves as State Treasurer.

Under Ancrum’s guidance, NCCOA has thrived, raising over $15 million dollars to support essential programs and services for seniors. These initiatives aim to provide resources, advocacy, and support for seniors to live independently and with dignity.

Reflecting on her career, Ancrum stated, “I’ve had the opportunity to work withevery age range in the spectrum from babies to the elderly up to the age of 103. It’s gratifying to make a difference in so many lives.”

She received a profound tribute to herdecades of service with the renaming of the NCCOA building to the “Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center” in 2021. This renaming recognizes Ancrum’s unwavering dedication to community welfare and her significant contributions to improving the lives of seniors in Nassau County and beyond.

Ancrum notes, “The legacy of love we are building will endure, continuing to brighten the days of countless individuals. It is the generosity of our donors and citizens that defines our mission, and I am grateful to be a part of something truly remarkable in our community.” Janice was a recent nominee for Jacksonville’s Image Awards.
